Wednesday. Up at about 7:30 Mountain Time after a fair night's sleep, even with all the motion. Walked around outside at the stop at Whitefish, MT. Getting our exercise walking to and from the observation and dining cars, with over 100 steps each way.
Skirting the edge of Glacier National Park, passing the Isaac Waltan Lodge. The deciduous trees have turned yellow and dropping their leaves.
Looking west (sort of) back towards East Glacier National Park
Lots of flat land in eastern Montana: cattle and hay. Did see a number of oil wells as ventured further east.
We crossed into North Dakota right at sunset. From what we could tell it didn't look much different than eastern Montana.
